Impact and Learning

Monitoring, evaluation and learning are central to each part of the NYEB's model and impact.

The National Youth Employment Body (NYEB) is supported by the Brotherhood of St Laurence’s Impact and Learning team, which builds evidence of how the model works and tracks progress against its Theory of Change

Monitoring

The Impact and Learning team meeting quarterly with partner organsiations to undertake coordinated tracking of activities and progress of projects and outcomes.

This information provides the opportunity to access information relevant to individual CICs, as well as supporting our broader understanding of how CICs are working in place.

Evaluation

The Brotherhood of St Laurence has produced several evaluations of the NYEB since 2021. An outcomes evaluation is currently underway and will conclude in 2027.

This evaluation aims to:

  • Identify outcomes that the NYEB has contributed to, or achieved, in communities and the broader employment system
  • Contribute to knowledge about how the NYEB model is working towards its outcomes, and the factors that enable or are barriers
  • Explore stakeholder perceptions of the value the NYEB brings to the youth employment system
  • Offer findings and recommendations for strengthening the NYEB model and the youth employment system that can be utilised by NYEB stakeholders including policy makers
