A Community Investment Committee (CIC) is a group of people and organisations from the same community who work together to design and deliver initiatives that address the systemic barriers that hold local people back from reaching their full potential.
CICs leverage local knowledge and community partnerships to create actions that add value to work already taking place in the community, address barriers that are not being dealt with through other initiatives and combine efforts so that their impact is wider than organisations working alone.
CICs are different from regular collaborative groups or networks because they are action-focused, are driven by the shared responsibility of members and are aimed at addressing systemic issues rather than duplicating or extending existing programs.
Each Committee chooses and responds to the systemic challenges unique to its community, while continuing to connect and share ideas with NYEB members Australia-wide.
