Community Investment Committee
The Adelaide CIC is a diverse group of community stakeholders listening, advocating and building pathways for young people.
The CIC works to empower and support scalable place-based options for young people in Adelaide, and to create equitable access to work and learning.
Adelaide CIC approaches its collaborative work using three principles:
- Bold: To take on complex issues
- Curious: To fully understand diverse viewpoints
- Patient: Because change takes time
The Adelaide CIC was set up in 2019 to support young people in Adelaide’s outer north and south.
Adelaide’s outer north and south are areas with fewer job opportunities compared to the city’s central suburbs. The Adelaide CIC covers a larger area than other CICs in the NYEB as both regions share similar challenges, including lower education levels, limited public transport, and a high number of young residents. These areas have made up 50% of South Australia’s construction jobs over the past eight years.
